The Power of Showing Up for the No Kings Protest and to Wear Orangewear orange no kings 19th amendment

Porch Talk Grit – Liberty Lane & Ezra Stone | June 5, 2025

“Freedom means nothing if we only fight for it when it’s fashionable.” — Liberty
“Constitutional courage requires presence, not platitudes.” — Ezra

🧡 Liberty: This Friday Is a Warning Shot

Let’s not sugarcoat it.

June 6 is not just another Friday. It’s a day to be seen — in orange, in protest, in public, and on purpose.

We are standing at a crossroads where the violence is no longer hidden. It’s on live streams. It’s in schoolyards. It’s in supermarkets and synagogues and gas stations. And the only thing louder than the gunshots is the silence of the people elected to stop them.

So this Friday, we put on orange. Not for hope. For accountability.

And if you think that sounds too dramatic, let me ask you something:

When did you get used to this?

Because I haven’t.

Not when another child dies.
Not when another mother screams.
Not when the same coward lawmakers post “thoughts and prayers” while voting to protect the gun lobby instead of your kids.

📣 Ezra: June 6 Is a Line in the Sand

June 6, 2025, is more than Wear Orange. It’s also the next scheduled #50501 day of protest — a decentralized, 50-state mobilization demanding accountability for the collapse of democratic norms.

And yes — these two movements overlap. They are not the same, but they share one crucial truth:

Silence enables violence. Whether by bullet or ballot.

On June 6, Americans across the political spectrum will step out of their homes and into the street — some in orange, some in black, all with the same refusal to disappear.

Because power only fears what it can’t ignore.

🗳️ Liberty: The 19th Amendment Was a Beginning — Not a Blessing

This week also marked the anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment — granting women the constitutional right to vote. Or, let’s say it more truthfully: some women.

Because while white women gained legal recognition in 1920, Black, Indigenous, Asian, and Latina women kept fighting for decades more. And now, in 2025, we are still watching the same game in a new dress:

  • Voter ID laws targeted at the poor

  • Gerrymandering that silences Black and brown voices

  • Misinformation designed to confuse and discourage young voters

This is not equality.
This is erosion — disguised as order.

We can’t honor the women who bled for that amendment by sitting out the fight we’re still in.

📜 Ezra: June 14 Is Coming — and They Are Watching

Let’s talk about the date no one’s prepared for: June 14.

For most, it’s Flag Day. For others, it’s Donald Trump’s birthday — and his followers have already begun planning rallies, armed meetups, and “patriot events” to signal strength.

Trump’s $45M Birthday Bash Could Cause Nightmare In Damages: Reports

Let me be clear: They’re not waving that flag to unify us.
They’re using it to stake a claim — one built on vengeance, not virtue.

That’s why June 6 matters so much. And that’s why we cannot disappear in the days that follow.

Presence is power.
And they’re counting on our absence.

✊ Liberty: The Most Radical Thing You Can Do Is Show Up

We live in a time where algorithms have replaced town halls…
where posts feel louder than people…
where everyone’s too exhausted to march and too heartbroken to hope.

But hear me clearly:

The most radical thing you can do this week is be seen.

In the street.
At the protest.
In orange.
In courage.
In resistance.

Because history doesn’t remember what we clicked.
It remembers where we stood.

📣 Ezra: We’re Not Asking for Permission — We’re Honoring the Oath

To every veteran, every public servant, every judge, every sheriff, every citizen who once took an oath — this is your moment.

You swore to defend the Constitution against all enemies — foreign and domestic.

  • When the ballot box is rigged by suppression, the enemy is inside.

  • When schools are battlegrounds, the enemy is inside.

  • When truth is punished and propaganda is protected, the enemy is inside.

And if you choose comfort over confrontation?
You’ve broken that oath.

But it’s not too late to reclaim it.

🔥 Liberty & Ezra: This Week, Be Loud. Be Seen. Be Unshaken.

Friday is June 6.
Friday is the warning shot.
Friday is the flare in the sky that says: We are not done.

But June 14 is coming.
And we need to be there too.

Whether in the street, at the courthouse, in the pews, or on the porch — be present.

Not just for your rights.
For your neighbors’.
For your children’s.
For every person who still believes we can be better than this.
