Make America Think Again

American Civil Disobedience. Fostering thoughtful resistance through diverse voices and principled storytelling.

My name is Colonel Ezra James Stone. United States Marine Corps, retired and a Constitution scholar and a Project 2025 scholar.

Don’t run off yet. I believe in our country but I want to make sure you know why. Plus, my family said I had to. I would do anything for them.

constitution scholar, ezra stone, project 2025I’m not much for introductions. I spent most of my life in rooms where the fewer words you spoke, the more they weighed.

Places we are taught to hold the line. It’s been tough at times, but here I am.

But I’ve been told that if I’m going to speak up now — after all this — I owe you at least one thing: clarity.

So here it is.

Who I Am

I served this country under six presidents, across three wars, in places most Americans couldn’t point to on a map. I held the line when it was hard. I buried good men. I upheld the chain of command — even when it cost me sleep.

I took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

And I never un-took it. You can’t do that to our Constitution, to our democratic way of life, and have integrity with me.

Why I’m Still Here

I didn’t come to this platform because I’m bored in retirement and love the Constitution as much as I love my niece and nephew. Here probably a bit more to be honest..

I came because I’m watching something I love fall apart — from the inside.

You see, I used to believe in the Republican Party. The old one.

The party of restraint, responsibility, and respect for the institutions that kept our republic from tipping over.

And yes — I voted for Donald J. Trump.

Not once. Twice.

The first time because I thought we needed a shock to the system.

The second time because I wanted to believe he could learn.

Turns out the system was more fragile than I realized. And some men aren’t here to learn. They’re here to dominate.

Where I Stand

I’m not a Democrat. I’m not a socialist. I voted for both Bush runs. I did not vote for Obama. I believe people need to earn their health care, but we should do better for citizens that don’t. I believe in many pieces of Project 2025. The government had become a bit bloated, we all know this is true.

I’m not interested in some utopian future run by hashtags and feelings.

But I’m also not blind.

What I see now is a movement — one I once aligned with — drifting toward revenge, not revival. Authoritarianism is spelled out. Their Deep State bullshit is a bit unhinged.

I see people I love — including my own niece and nephew — caught in the undertow of confusion, loyalty, and righteous fire.

One (Joe Bob) has jumped ship. The other (Liberty) is still trying to steer.

And I? I’m standing on the deck, watching the compass spin, wondering how many of us even remember what North used to mean.

What I Believe

I believe in law and order — but not at the cost of freedom.

I believe in borders — but not walls around the truth.

I believe in God — but I won’t use His name to win an election.

I believe in America — and I’m not going to stand silent while it gets hollowed out by narcissists, cowards, or tyrants-in-training.

Why I’m Writing Now

Because someone has to.
Not to shout. Not to shame.
But to remind.

Remind us who we are.
What we swore to.
Why it still MATAs.

If you’re a fellow veteran, a conservative Christian, a grandfather, a worker, a believer in duty — I’m not asking you to jump sides.

I’m asking you to hold the damn line.

You don’t owe your loyalty to a man.
You owe it to a mission.

And if you’re willing to stand in that quiet space — the one between rage and resignation — I’ll meet you there.

Coffee’s on.

Bible’s open.

Flag’s still flying.

Semper Fi.

Stand with Honor. If you took an oath, remember it. If you love this country, protect it — not with slogans, but with principles. Share these words with a fellow veteran, a church friend, or someone on the fence. Subscribe for dispatches that cut through the noise and remind us who we are. And if you’re ready to hold the line — not just against enemies foreign and domestic, but against apathy and blind obedience — then stay awhile.

Read the Constitution.

Read Project 2025.

Reflect. Speak up when it MATAs.
