Witchcraft Bull Patch Notes and American politics

1484. 2025. Same Empire, New Update.
They say history doesn’t repeat —
but sometimes it copies, pastes, and hits refresh.
In 1484, Pope Innocent VIII issued the Witchcraft Bull,
an official document declaring that the world was under attack
by dark forces, heretics, sorcerers, “unruly women,”
and anyone who dared to think outside the script.
Europe obeyed.
Mass hysteria spread faster than truth.
Neighbors accused neighbors.
Communities burned their heretics of the week.
Power was protected.
Fear was weaponized.
And entire generations lived under what I can only describe as
the first global patch update for mass panic.
Now jump to 2025,
and tell me you don’t feel the version notes hitting your screen.
• New enemies added
• New paranoia unlocked
• New laws drafted to punish the “dangerous”
• New propaganda filter applied
• Same old human fear, re-skinned with modern tech
History is just software with bad developers.
And the update we’re living through?
It’s not subtle. It’s not elegant.
It’s not even well-coded.
But it’s dangerous —
because it works.
THE WITCH HUNT IS ALWAYS ABOUT POWER, NOT TRUTH
The Witchcraft Bull didn’t spread because people were evil.
It spread because people were scared,
and those in power learned — as they always do —
that fear is the easiest lever to pull.
It wasn’t about witches.
It was about obedience.
It wasn’t about sorcery.
It was about surveillance.
It wasn’t about heresy.
It was about keeping ordinary people too distracted
to notice the palace rot.
Sound familiar?
They don’t call it witchcraft now.
They call it:
• “national security”
• “law and order”
• “election integrity”
• “un-American behavior”
• “terrorist sympathizer”
• “misinformation spreader”
Same playbook.
Different fonts.
2025 isn’t cursed.
It’s predictable.
THE NEW INQUISITORS WALK IN SUITS, NOT ROBES
Let’s name it clearly.
When a former Trump personal lawyer — Alina Habba — is illegally serving as the U.S. attorney for New Jersey,
and the courts are saying it out loud,
we’re not watching justice.
We’re watching a monarchy-in-training.
Because you know what witch-hunters always do first?
They replace the law with people loyal to the throne.
In 1484, they replaced due process with superstition.
In 2025, they’re replacing legal expertise with personal allegiance.
Different century.
Same corruption.
When a nation allows loyalty to outvote law,
you don’t get witches —
you get tyrants.
And you get citizens looking over their shoulders
wondering when the next accusation will come
and from which platform.
MASS HYSTERIA IS A FEATURE, NOT A BUG
People ask me,
“How did the witch hunts happen?
How did entire communities fall for something so absurd?”
My answer:
The absurd was never the point.
The obedience was.
You don’t need rational fear
to build an authoritarian regime.
You just need enough chaos
that people beg someone to “restore order.”
Look around:
• protest rights are shrinking
• surveillance is spreading
• dissent is labeled “dangerous”
• journalists are vilified
• fact becomes optional
• fear becomes mandatory
And politicians — the modern inquisitors —
keep frantically waving the same old threats:
immigrants, activists, educators, voters,
witches with Wi-Fi.
This is not new.
This is not accidental.
This is not unique to our time.
This is the 1484 patch, rewritten for an age of algorithms.
THE MOST DANGEROUS WORD IN ANY CENTURY IS “THEY”
“They” are coming for your family.
“They” are stealing your country.
“They” are weakening the nation.
“They” are the reason you feel powerless.
Every witch hunt begins with a vague, shapeless “they.”
Because the moment people believe in a faceless enemy,
they will tolerate — even demand —
a powerful protector.
And protectors, once welcomed, rarely leave voluntarily.
BUT HERE’S THE SECRET THEY NEVER WANT YOU TO REMEMBER
Witch hunts don’t end because the powerful have a change of heart.
They end because the public gets tired of being afraid.
Fear has an expiration date.
Conscience does not.
In every chapter of human hysteria,
there are people who look around and say:
“Wait a minute.
This doesn’t make us safer.
This makes us smaller.”
We are in that moment now.
You can feel it.
In the streets.
In the silence after the news.
In the weary laughter of a country learning to recognize
the smell of recycled tyranny.
1484 didn’t last forever.
Neither will 2025.
But it will last long enough to harm millions
unless the awake stay louder than the afraid.

*“You cannot un-hunt a witch.
You can only refuse to become the next inquisitor.”*
So here’s my invitation:
Notice the pattern.
Name it when you see it.
Refuse to participate in it.
Refuse to amplify it.
Refuse to be conscripted by fear.
And for the love of whatever future we still deserve —
do not let the people rewriting the rules of democracy
pretend this is normal.
We are not cursed.
We are not doomed.
We are simply at the part of the story
where the empire tries one last patch
before the people reboot the system.
And history — real history —
has always belonged to the rebooters.
