Dismantling the Department of Education Seems Misguided and not about Patriotism
By Liberty Lane & Joe Bob Justice
“You can’t wave the flag and tear down everything it stands for. That’s not patriotism!” — Liberty Lane
“Can’t piss on the future and call it rain.” 💦🚫 — Joe Bob Justice
When news broke that Donald Trump had signed an executive order to eliminate the Department of Education, two of our most opinionated Texans—Liberty Lane and Joe Bob Justice—sat down for some tea, a cold one, and a
front porch conversation that pulls no punches. What follows is an unfiltered look at what it means to truly ‘Do What MATAs Most’ when the future of public education is under attack.
[Scene: South Texas, late afternoon ☀️. A rustic porch. The American flag waves behind them. Joe Bob holds a beer 🍺. Liberty sips sweet tea 🍹. Both are staring down the news on an old tablet screen.]
Joe Bob:
You see this mess? Trump standin’ up there with schoolkids like he’s the dang principal, sayin’ he’s gonna shut down the whole damn Department of Education 🎓🧨.
Liberty:
I saw it. Couldn’t believe my ears. Said it’s “doing us no good” and he’s gonna “eliminate it.” You don’t eliminate a whole department of government with a Sharpie and a stage show 🖊️🎭. That’s not leadership. That’s a tantrum with flags.
Joe Bob:
I mean hell, Liberty, you ever try to fix a busted car by throwin’ out the whole engine? 🛻💥 That’s what this is. Education ain’t perfect, but torchin’ it? What the hell’s the plan?
Liberty:
There isn’t one. He stood there sayin’ China’s big and does education, so why can’t we ❓. China. Like that’s our new gold standard? I believe in strong local schools. I believe in states’ rights. But I also believe in facts 📚. And this order isn’t about helping kids—it’s about consolidating control and scoring cheap political points 🎯.
Joe Bob:
And don’t get me started on that gavel-crushin’-the-schoolhouse energy 🔨🏫. 1,300 employees fired. Civil rights investigations iced 🧊. No plan for student loans 💸. Just “eliminate it” and let someone else figure out the pieces. Spoiler alert: the pieces are kids 👦👧.
Liberty:
Not just kids. Kids with disabilities ♿. Kids learning English. Students who need Pell Grants 💰. Women who need protection from sexual harassment on campus. That’s what the Department of Education actually does.
Joe Bob:
Yeah, but if you listen to Stephen Miller, it’s just a nest of Marxist radicals who hate America and kittens 🐱🤦♂️. The bullshit is so thick you could float a truck on it.
Liberty:
And yet, they say it with a straight face. Worse, people believe it 🤯. I love this country too much to sit silent. Patriotism isn’t about blind obedience—it’s about standing up for the values we were founded on. Education. Opportunity. Justice 🗽.
Joe Bob:
Exactly. I voted for Trump once 🗳️. Thought he might shake things up. But this? This is breakin’ stuff just to watch it burn 🔥. Ain’t leadership—it’s demolition.
Liberty:
And now the American people are being told to celebrate it 🎉. Like this is some bold move. What it really is? A full-frontal assault on the next generation’s future, gift-wrapped in slogans 🎁.
Joe Bob:
Well I got a slogan too:
Bullshit-O-Meter Level 5: Flag-Wrapped Dumpster Fire 🔥🗑️🚩
Liberty:
If you care about education, you better care about this. And if you love your country, you better fight for the minds of its children ✏️🧠.
What MATAs Most
This isn’t just a policy issue.
It’s a values issue.
You don’t save America by gutting its ability to teach 📉📚.
You don’t show patriotism by sabotaging the future 🕳️🧨.
And you damn sure don’t “make America great” by mocking the very institutions built to give every kid—rich, poor, rural, urban—a shot 🏫🎯.
We’re not falling for it.
And we’re not backing down ✊.
